El ojo de Huracán Milton tocó tierra cerca de esta Key,́ndetocótierraelhuracá en el Condado de Sarasota, Florida, a unas 70 millas al sur de Tampa, como una tormenta categoría 3 el miércoles a las 8:30 p.m. hora local.
El jueves por la mañana, la tormenta salió de la costa este de Florida. El Centro Nacional de Huracanes (NHC por sus siglas en inglés) ha descontinuado Avisos de Huracán y Tormenta Tropical por la costa oeste de Florida, los Cayos de Florida desde la línea del Condado de Palm Beach y Broward, Sebastian Inlet y Lake Okeechobee.
El Aviso de Huracán por la línea del Condado de Flagler y Volusia se ha cambiado a un Aviso de Tormenta Tropical.
Más de 3 millones de personas están sin electricidad después de la tormenta. Las compañías eléctricas esperan cortes de energía prolongados.
Se han confirmado al menos dies muertes tras del huracán, según NBC News:
